Terms, and the honesty rule

What Veldlist is

A directory of claims, attributed. When a listing says certified, we found that operation in the named certifier's own public register on the recorded date. When it says operator's own claim, that is exactly what it is: their words, unverified by anyone, including us. We do not certify, inspect, endorse or rank by payment. Assurance levels are never sold and paid placement is always marked as such.

The assistant

Ask answers from the recorded listings and a small set of sourced explainers, and refuses anything outside them. A language model may re-word an answer; it is given only the listings already retrieved, and anything it names or counts that is not in them is thrown away before you see it. It is still software: check anything that matters with the business itself.

What it is not

Not medical, dietary, legal or financial advice. Training plans, meal targets, the ingredient scanner and the assistant are general information built from published sources and do not know your medical history. See a doctor, physiotherapist, biokineticist or dietitian before starting a program — particularly with an injury, a condition or a pregnancy. Raw milk carries real risk for young children, the elderly, pregnant women and anyone immunocompromised.

No pork

There is no pork in the directory, the recipes, the meal planner or the shopping list, by design. Halaal certification is recorded where it appears in a certifier's own register and is shown as its own stamp; it never changes a listing's organic level, and we do not certify halaal either.

Accuracy

Businesses change, certificates lapse, registers move. Every listing carries the date it was recorded, and a claim drops to "not yet checked" when its evidence expires. If something is wrong, tell us and we correct it — including if it is your business and you want it removed.

Your account

You may not use another person's account, scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others, or present Veldlist data as your own certification. We may close an account that does. You can close yours yourself, at any time, from the account page.

Money

The directory is free. Plus and merchant plans are paid once for a fixed term of one year through Yoco and do not renew automatically — there is nothing to cancel. Under section 44 of the ECT Act you may cancel an online purchase within seven days of payment for a full refund; we extend that to fourteen days, on request, without questions. Prices include VAT where VAT applies.

Content and trademarks

Business names and marks belong to their owners and appear here to identify them. The dataset is published under a CC BY 4.0 licence; attribution to Veldlist is the only condition.
