2. The guide

The Information Regulator publishes a guide on how to use the Act, in all official languages, under section 10. It is available from inforegulator.org.za, from the Regulator at 33 Hoofd Street, Forum III, Braampark, Johannesburg, or by email to PAIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.

3. Records held

• The directory — listings, the claims recorded against them, their sources and dates. Published in full at https://veldlist.com and downloadable at https://veldlist.com/app/data.js under a CC BY 4.0 licence. No request is needed.
• Account records — profile, training and diary data, scans, subscriptions and email history of people who created an account. A person may download their own at any time from the account page; nobody else may have them.
• Merchant records — placement agreements, invoices and correspondence.
• Business records — tax, accounting and banking records kept as the Income Tax Act, the VAT Act and the Companies Act require.

4. Records available without a request

Everything on this website, the dataset, the assurance methodology on the trust section, the privacy notice, the terms and the seller disclosure.

5. How to request a record

Use Form 2 of the PAIA regulations, sent to the Information Officer at the address above. Say which record you want, in what form, and how we should reach you. We answer within 30 days. Prescribed fees apply to requests for records about third parties; there is no fee for your own personal information. A refusal will give reasons and explain how to appeal or take it to the Regulator or a court.

Categories of data subject and the information processed, the purposes, the recipients, any cross-border transfer and the security safeguards are all set out in the privacy notice, which forms part of this manual.
